This little girl is my warrior! She fought long and hard to make it here, she was sent here for us to learn and grow from. Hailey was born on April 6, 2007, and was diagnosed at birth with Turner Syndrome. Turner syndrome (TS) is a genetic condition found in females only. It affects about 1 in every 2,500 girls. Girls with TS are all different. Some may have many physical differences and symptoms, whereas others have only a few medical problems.
When Hailey was born, she wasn't getting any blood flow to the bottom half of her body so she was life flighted to Primary Children's hours after her birth. At 5 days old, this little warrior had open heart surgery. This was one of thee most terrifying moments I have ever been through. She is strong and resilient. She will fight this fight her whole life but I know that she is strong and will continue to do well.
Hailey is one of the happiest girls I know, despite all the obstacles she has to go through. She is always positive and you can't help but smile and be happy when she is around you. She has a special spirit about her and we are blessed to feel that in our home every day. Our family could not imagine our life without our Hailey in it.
