Lincoln was born at 28 weeks gestation, 3 months early. They called him a modern day medical miracle because my water broke at 18 weeks and he toughed it out for 10 more weeks. When he was born, he was super sick. We didn’t even know that he would make it through the first night. He suffered a major brain bleed which resulted in him having both hydrocephalus and cerebral palsy. In his four month NICU stay, he had one hurdle after another that he cleared like a champion. This cute little guy has had about 7 surgeries, 5 of which were brain surgeries, in the first 5 years of his life! Every aspect of his life he has been forced to find a way to make it work. The things that most of us take for granted, he has to work extra hard to be able to do.
He has brought so much joy into our lives and continues to surprise us everyday! He is witty, loveable, funny, smart & SO admirable! He brightens whatever room he walks into!
Lincoln has 4 other siblings that just adore him. We’ve learned what it takes to have someone like him to look up to. It is him who has taught us so much!! We’ve been so very blessed to have Lincoln a part of our family and are grateful every single day he is here with us.
